2020 Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Mountain AVA
The Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon from Block 32 at Shaw Vineyard continues to deliver exceptional quality and be a cellar favorite amongst our winemaking team. The 2020 vintage is loaded with fresh raspberries, black currant, burnt orange peel, and red fig. The broad tannins are well integrated at this point and support the satiating mouthfeel, with hints of ground nutmeg, mocha and hoisin. A seamless wine with restraint and a lengthy finish that will surely gain more nuance if you can wait.

The 2020 Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon opens to a deep ruby core, almost opaque, with firm, bold and expressive aromas that punch out of the glass with powerful, ripe and juicy cherry and plum tones that are tied to a firm backbone of brown baking spices. Full-bodied, firmly tannic and juicy, the Cabernet is elegant and spicy and will benefit from another year, maybe two, in bottle before opening. It's an impressive wine that continues to offer succulent and spicy plum and blackberry flavors over the elongated finish.

Behind the Wine
2020 Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon
Each year the Washington wine industry chooses an exemplary vintner and grower from amongst its peers. The 2015 honor went to Shaw Vineyards and DeLille Cellars, spanning more than 50 years of combined experience as vanguards of Washington’s wine industry. To acknowledge this tribute, we selected some of our finest barrels of Shaw Vineyards Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon for a limited production wine exclusive to our wine club. Now, we’ve opened this wine to everyone, so that all can taste the product of our most beloved partnership. Wines from here are bold and hedonistic with magnificent purity of fruit. Enjoy a glass as a classic example of the stellar wine lineage of Washington State.
