The 2021 Roofline Pinot Noir presents appealing aromas of coriander, cherry and pomegranate, with a hint of eucalyptus. The pretty, delicate aromas belie the density the wine shows on the palate, which builds to a substantial finish which is buttressed by a touch of French oak and just the right amount of tannin. A blend of vineyard sites from the Willamette Valley, this fresh and vibrant "cuvée" is intended for casual consumption and obvious appeal, and it delivers.

This velvety smooth Pinot Noir is new to me, but I hope the winery keeps making it. Roofline sets up aromatic shop with a mesmerizing combination of red velvet cake just out of the oven, rose petals and tart cherries. The wine’s restrained acidity and velvety tannins escort flavors of boysenberries, cacao nibs and a touch of agave syrup. This is plush and pleasing stuff.
