2020 Minuit
Yakima VAlley AVA
The union of Malbec (72%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (28%) prove their compatibility once again in our 2020 Minuit, offering aromas of blueberry compote, green peppercorn, fennel seed, and wild blackberry. The Malbec adds juicy, brambly fruits and a fleshy texture that begs for the well-structured Red Mountain Cabernet, which in turn adds a touch of sanguine and tobacco leaf. The palate shows great concentration and weight, with the vibrant dark fruits elevating the wine and bringing energy to the finish. Best enjoyed with your favorite meats from the grill. – N.B.

Mostly Malbec with 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 Minuit is big, juicy and plummy with fresh, dark, tightly wound and spicy red fruit on the nose with an elegant floral lift. It is full-bodied, spicy and juicy on the palate, with flavors of black raspberry and spiced plum compote, fine-grained tannins and a lingering, food-friendly finish. The wine rested for 20 months in French oak barrels, 61% new. Just over 16,000 bottles were filled. Give it a try.

Behind the Wine
2020 Minuit
Minuit was crafted via countless trial iterations of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon at the blending table, seeking unity and balance. Meaning “midnight,” it is the time of day that delineates one day from the next, at once the beginning of something new and the end of a defined and fundamental cycle. This wine, black as night, embodies this notion: the conclusion of our journey in the vineyard and cellar, and the beginning of discovering the wine’s potential in the bottle and in the glass.

Vineyards
Quintessence Vineyard on Red Mountain – Originally this Malbec and Cabernet Blend was a Member-Only selection made from 100% Quintessence fruit. It became such a favorite that we added select blocks from the famed Red Willow Vineyard to expand case production.

Winemaking
Cold soaked 24-36 hours, fermented for 12-14 days on skin, and aged 18 months in 100% French oak (60% new).
