2021 Le Colosse

Yakima Valley AVA

The 2021 Le Colosse represents the best qualities of Yakima Valley Merlot, sourced from four of the finest sites in the valley: Boushey, Dubrul, Harrison Hill, and Red Willow vineyards. Candied red fruits, opulent mouthfeel, and firm acid unite to create a pure expression of Merlot that is quite easy to enjoy in its youth. There are whiffs of sarsaparilla, red licorice, mixed berry compote and vanilla bean leading to a lush, energetic palate, with a savory component that adds depth and complexity.

93 Points - Cellar Selection

Le Colosse is a 100% Merlot made with fruit from some of Washington's finest vineyards. The wine's black- and blueberry, leather, aged balsamic, balsa wood and nutmeg aromas are an open invitation to keep swirling the glass. However, blackcap raspberry, black cherry, anise and oak spice flavors demand a turn. The tannins are grippy, so hide a few bottles away to enjoy from 2025–2038.

Pairing Suggestion

Lamb Sliders — Pair Le Colosse with grilled meats, vegetables, wild game, stews and chilis. Marbled cuts of beef (Grilled New York or Ribeye Steak) stand up to the flavors of merlot.
