2023 Marguerite Sauvignon Blanc
White Bluffs AVA
The 2023 Marguerite shows the concentration of the vintage with its intense bouquet and rich palate. On the nose, notes of tree fruits like peach, nectarine, and Asian pear are framed by aromas of lemony baked pastries. The oak has integrated nicely after extended aging, imparting spice and even more volume on the palate. Bold tropical flavors are balanced by a notable floral lift and slightly green, herbaceous undertones. Brisk acid and tight structure add depth that carries the rich mid-palate to a nervy, bright finish. This wine benefits from air in its youth and will cellar beautifully for 15+ years.

Another gorgeous rendition of this wine, the 2023 ‘Marguerite’ is a world-class Sauvignon Blanc that was stored in mainly cigar-shaped barrels. This comes off fat, rich and unctuous on the mouth, with bright underlying finesse. Loaded with stony minerals, this exudes class with its papaya, citrus fruit and nutty core on the plate. Finishing long with walnut, and vanilla cream, enjoy this beauty now and over the next ten years to come.

Behind the Wine
2023 Marguerite Sauvignon Blanc
The Marguerite daisy, a flower symbolizing devotion and patience, lends its name to this cuvée. DeLille Cellars has crafted Sauvignon Blanc for over a quarter century, traditionally aging the wines for six months in barrel. For Marguerite, the very best wines are selected to remain in barrel for an additional year. Loyally tended in barrel, this, our best Sauvignon Blanc, is bottled separately, then rested in bottle another year before release.
Vineyards
Sagemoor Bacchus, one of Washington’s premier vineyards, is home to a 1972 planting of Sauvignon Blanc. These old vines are key to DeLille’s Chaleur Blanc program, and are the sole planting used in Marguerite.
Winemaking
100% barrel fermented, 15 months in French oak (57% new) and partial aging in concrete. Full malolactic fermentation. Bottle aged for 12 months prior to release.
