2023 Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Mountain AVA
The 2023 Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon showcases an enticing medley of dark fruits, wound around a core of bright red fruits, which typically dominate this cuvée. Notes of brambleberry, Bing Cherry, hoisin, and dark espresso waft from the glass. Each sip is marked by the classic ripe, dusty Red Mountain tannins that we love and an energetic mid-palate stretched by juicy acidity. Hints of green olive, toasted marshmallow, cassis, and pomegranate delight the senses, complemented by the well-integrated oak flavors. This wine has the balance and body to age 15+ years.

An elegantly tuned Cabernet Sauvignon from the west-facing Shaw Vineyard up on the flanks of Red Mountain. It spends 20 months in 80% new French oak, and then another 10 months in bottle before release. Gorgeous florals mix with crushed basalt on the nose, teasing desert scrub and dried lavender. A case of elegance and power together on the palate, with pretty red and blue fruits that mingle with smoky spice, clove and Moroccan spices.

Behind the Wine
2023 Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon
Each year the Washington wine industry chooses an exemplary vintner and grower from amongst its peers. The 2015 honor went to Shaw Vineyards and DeLille Cellars, spanning more than 50 years of combined experience as vanguards of Washington’s wine industry. To acknowledge this tribute, we selected some of our finest barrels of Shaw Vineyards Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon for a limited production wine exclusive to our wine club. Now, we’ve opened this wine to everyone, so that all can taste the product of our most beloved partnership. Wines from here are bold and hedonistic with magnificent purity of fruit. Enjoy a glass as a classic example of the stellar wine lineage of Washington State.
