The 30th Vintage

The 2024 vintage of Chaleur Blanc is a shining example of the balance this vintage has to offer. Initial bursts of green kiwi and ripe peaches leap from the glass, followed by a floral bouquet of gardenia and honeysuckle. The prominent aromas continue onto the palate, layered with sweet oak spice and a generous, creamy body imparted by sur lees aging. The refreshing acidity and throughline of minerality unite this effort. The result is a complex and energetic wine that is remarkably approachable. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years if you can resist the temptation.

96 Points

The 2024 Delille Cellars Chaleur Blanc from the Columbia Valley marks the 30th vintage of this iconic cuvée, crafted from 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. Its pale straw hue shimmers with hints of silver at the edge, inviting a closer look. Aromas of fresh lime leaf, elderflower, and white peach emerge first, followed by accents of roasted almond and honeycomb. On the palate, the wine strikes an impressive balance between vibrancy and weight, with the Sauvignon Blanc driving tension and energy while the Semillon layers in richness and a soft, nutty texture. Waves of citrus oil, green melon, and subtle spice flow across the mouth, finishing long and delicious. A brilliant food companion, it would shine alongside grilled halibut topped with a citrus beurre blanc or a saffron-infused seafood risotto. Highly recommended.

Behind the Wine

2024 Chaleur Blanc White Blend

Crafting a white Bordeaux-style blend was unheard of in Washington when the winery first created Chaleur Blanc. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, this wine is fermented sur lie in French oak barrels, imparting a memorable “crème brulee” finish. Served at the White House over three administrations and rivaling its French counterparts in quality and exceptional value, Chaleur Blanc has become one of the winery’s most influential blends.
