Notes of green apple, Meyer lemon, lemongrass, and eucalyptus leaf waft from the glass. The waxy, honeyed texture is backed by citrus flavors and a refreshing, brisk acidity that is more prominent on the finish than the weighty mid-palate. The amazing 2025 DeLille Cellars Roussanne comes from the famed Ciel du Cheval Vineyard on Red Mountain. The wine was aged in a combination of neutral oak, concrete and stainless steel. The nose is powerful and intense, showing honeysuckle and mango notes on the nose alongside shades of cantalope. The palate is lush, round and generous with a sensational texture and great sense of weight, with bright underlying acidity. This is dense and bold Roussanne that has a long way to go in the cellar.
