Courses at DeLille Cellars
DeLille Cellars has partnered with The Wine & Spirit Archive to offer WSET classes and other wine education events at Grand Ciel Hall, located next door to our tasting room at the Old Redhook Brewery in Woodinville, Washington.
WSET Level 1
This introductory level course introduces students to major wine styles, practices for proper wine storage and service, as well as the fundamentals of food and wine pairing.

Learn MoreWSG French Wine Scholar
The course includes ten three-hour classes, once per week for ten weeks and two virtual exam prep/review sessions. Study France’s wine-producing regions, grape varieties, geology, viticulture, and history. Students will also explore the foods of each region and the regulations for wine categories.
LEARN MOREWSET Level 1 Award in Wine
This introductory level course introduces students to major wine styles, practices for proper wine storage and service, as well as the fundamentals of food and wine pairing. This certification course aims to provide students with the product and service knowledge necessary to excel in wine-related positions in restaurants, bars, retail outlets, and winery tasting rooms.
Who should attend: This course is ideal for students preparing for their first job in the wine industry or for consumers seeking a formal introduction to wine. Students with more wine experience may elect to bypass WSET Level 1 and enroll directly in WSET Level 2 Award in Wine. No prior experience or knowledge is expected for attendance in this course.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wine
The WSET Level 2 Course offers a strong foundation in the world of wine and covers all major grape varieties and wine styles, key world wine regions, label terminology and professional wine tasting technique. Students will build a comprehensive understanding of wine through outside reading, lectures and discussions, and evaluation of over 40 wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.
Who should attend: This course is the ideal starting point for professionals or enthusiasts who want to take their knowledge to the next level. Although there is no prerequisite for this course, many of our students find it useful to begin their studies with the Introduction to Wine Series or the WSET Level 1 Wine Course.

WSET Level 3 Award in Wine
The WSET Level 3 Award in Wine Course offers a challenging and in-depth examination of the world of wine including all major wine regions, grape varieties, wine styles, viticulture, winemaking, food and wine pairing, labeling laws and terminology, and professional wine tasting technique.
The course includes approximately 40 hours of classroom instruction including lecture, discussion and tasting of approximately 90 wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting. In order to be successful in this course, students should also budget time outside of class for reading, studying, tasting, and completing homework assignments. Course tuition includes all tasting fees, course textbook, study guide, exam fees and course certificate.
Who should attend: This advanced-level course is appropriate for students with a strong foundation in wine knowledge and tasting technique. The WSET Level 2 Award in Wine is a recommended prerequisite.

French Wine Scholar
The French Wine Scholar program provides committed students of wine with an unparalleled set of study tools that are designed to maximize learning and boost knowledge retention. This course includes ten three-hour classes, once per week for ten weeks and two virtual exam prep/review sessions. Study France’s wine-producing regions, grape varieties, geology, viticulture, and history. Students will also explore the foods of each region and the regulations for wine categories.
The Wine Scholar Guild is an internationally recognized certification body for advanced wine learning for French, Italian, and Spanish Wines. Upon the completion and successful passing of respective examinations, the scholar receives a diploma, and the right to add the post-nominal FWS (French Wine Scholar) to their name.
