The nose is dense with black raspberries, blueberries, cassis, mocha, and crème de menthe. On the palate you can feel the weight and structure of the vintage, with cassis and berry flavors, espresso powder, and a hint of sage that is the hallmark of this vineyard. This wine is most definitely built to age, but the tannins are silky and balanced with the fruit through the long and pleasing finish.
