2010 Chaleur Estate 1.5L

This is an elegant wine with a powerful profile. The deep aromas consist of blueberries, cassis, blackberries, juicy purple grapes, graham cracker, roasted meats, pastry spices, rosemary bush, mole chocolate and lilacs. On the palate there is a beautiful combination of red and dark fruits like marion berries, pomegranates, currants and cassis along with vanilla and wood smoke. A mouthwatering, savory style that defines the 2010 vintage and is also reminiscent of the very best earlier Chaleur Estate vintages, a long lasting wine of 15 years or more.

94 Points

Along the same lines quality-wise, yet with more spice, toast, sage and hints of bay leaf, the 2010 Chaleur Estate has lavish richness and depth in the mouth, with superb mid-palate concentration, masses of ripe tannin and a knockout finish. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc that’s from the Ciel du Cheval, Upchurch and Klipsun Vineyards, it is a serious Cabernet Sauvignon that will have 15-20 years of longevity. Decant if drinking anytime soon. Drink 2017-2028+.
