Carefully barrel selected from our block of old vine Cabernet Sauvignon from the Klipsun vineyard, this cuvee’s deep, brooding and musky aroma of blackberry and mocha is balanced by a lovely cassis note.  Massively structured throughout, this wine offers considerable reward for patience, and should cellar nicely for a decade or more. With time and air, classic notes of Red Mountain emerge, with sagebrush and lavender intermingling with dried fruit, black licorice, and a spicy clove hint from French oak cooperage.

Another smaller production release is the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 3, which comes from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. It’s a deep, rich, Graves-like release that has ample dark fruits, gravelly, earthy minerality, chocolate, and lead pencil aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully balanced, it has silky tannins and is going to evolve gracefully.

Over the last 25 years, we have occasionally created a wine in the cellar with unique and exceptional attributes, where the quantity is so limited there isn’t enough to offer all of our customers. This exclusive offering continues the tradition of showcasing a Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon as a rare offering for our wine club members. Since 1992, DeLille Cellars has been devoted to the excellence and distinct character of the Red Mountain AVA. On these venerable slopes, Cabernet Sauvignon is nurtured beneath the warmth of the Eastern Washington sun and produces wines of striking depth and remarkable structure. In this excellent vintage, barrels were carefully selected to showcase the exceptional power and ripeness of Cabernet Sauvignon from Klipsun, a vineyard that consistently cultivates formidable wines with uniquely compelling depth of fruit.

Established in 1984 and located on the Southwest slope of Red Mountain, Klipsun remains one of the Washington’s most reputable vineyards. Klipsun vineyard has deeper soils, resulting in very rich and ripe fruit creating concentrated wines with plum and brandy nuances.



Cold soaked for 24-36 hours and fermented on skin 12-14 days. Half of the lot went through extended macerated for 8-10 weeks before blending and aging for 20 months in 100% new French oak.
