The 2021 D2 shows the promise of the vintage, with deep concentration and outstanding quality. Initial aromas of blackberry, cassis and green peppercorn lead to a palate bursting with beautiful richness and texture. The high-quality, fine-grained tannins of this wine allow approachability in its youth, yet have the firmness and backbone to provide aging for 15+ years. The 2021 Chaleur Estate displays the power of the vintage with aromas of red currants, charred black cherry, dark chocolate and peat moss. The wine is laser focused and has incredible richness and mouthfeel, without feeling heavy. The tannins are ripe and full and accompanied by flavors of marionberry compote, iodine, cedar, and olive tapenade. The layers of dense dark fruits, savory barrel and baking spices and polished full tannins are interwoven beautifully. Enjoy on release with a patient decant or cellar 20+ years.

Red currants, graphite, fresh blackberry, and black tea leaf sing from the glass. The palate has incredible texture and liveliness, with flavors of dark chocolate, fresh truffle, and star anise. The assortment of baking spice aromas, from the 78% of new French oak, add a layer of spice and complexity that lifts this wine to another level.
