“The 2022 D2 is elegant and plush, showcasing the high quality of this stellar vintage. The initial aromas of black currant, wild strawberry, cherry cola, and hints of mocha leap from the glass, lingering with each sip. On the palate, the tannins are refined and broad, creating a luscious mouthfeel lifted by the mouthwatering acidity and warm oak flavors. There is a savory throughline that brilliantly compliments the bright red and dark fruit medley. The transition from the juicy mid-palate to the lengthy finish is seamless. Drink with confidence now after a hefty decant or cellar for 12+ years.”

The 2022 Chaleur Blanc is bright, energetic and, on its release date, possesses wonderful tension. More prominent than recent vintages, classic Sauvignon Blanc notes of gooseberry lead on the nose, followed by whiffs of green apple, apricot and white flowers. The palate has flavors of lemon brioche and peach-infused mascarpone, buttressed with flinty, mineral qualities. The finish is round and defined by its length and enticing freshness. Enjoy now or cellar for 10+ years to experience the complexity and evolution of this beauty.

The wine is laser focused and has incredible richness and mouthfeel, without feeling heavy. The tannins are ripe and full and accompanied by flavors of marionberry compote, iodine, cedar, and olive tapenade. The layers of dense dark fruits, savory barrel and baking spices and polished full tannins are interwoven beautifully. Enjoy on release with a patient decant or cellar 20+ years.

The marriage of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache is quite agreeable in this 2021 effort of Doyenne that offers aromas of blackberry, cassis, graphite and green peppercorn. The meaty, dark-fleshed Syrah is framed beautifully by the firm structured Cab, while the Grenache adds a floral lift and bright red fruit undertones. The palate is dense and nicely weighted, yet still has good energy that leads to a lengthy finish. Pair with your favorite grilled meats now or cellar 12+ years. – N.B
